Dial Up the Cloud: NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Controls Arrive on GeForce NOW

GeForce NOW hands members DLSS 4.5 controls, letting cloud gamers tune AI upscaling and frame generation without owning the latest hardware.
Why it matters
NVIDIA added DLSS 4.5 controls to GeForce NOW on Windows, macOS, ChromeOS and SteamOS. Members can adjust DLSS Super Resolution, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction in supported games, with Ultimate members on RTX 5080-class cloud rigs getting frame generation up to 4X.
The update lands alongside Enshrouded's 1.0 release, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 and ten other games. NVIDIA also says DLSS 5's neural rendering model is getting 2X faster, debuting in NBA 2K27 on Oct. 16.
From the desk
This is a small, sensible update. Giving people dials instead of a fixed preset respects that some players want sharpness and others want responsiveness.
The interesting bit is what it says about AI in graphics: the neural tricks once tied to buying an expensive card are now a setting on a rented machine. That's a good outcome for anyone priced out of high-end hardware.
The tradeoff with frame generation in the cloud is latency stacked on latency. NVIDIA says the dynamic version lowers it, and we'll take that at face value until players report otherwise. For a weekly game-drop post, it's a modest but real step.
Who feels it
- Cloud gamers
- More control over image quality and smoothness in supported titles.
- Hardware market
- Cloud access to AI rendering features reduces pressure to upgrade local GPUs.
