NVIDIA’s 26th Graduate Fellowship cycle opens worldwide — up to $60,000, Ph.D. year-one-plus required, mandatory summer 2027 research internship, applications due October 30, 2026.

Why it matters

The NVIDIA Graduate Fellowship Program is accepting applications for 2027–2028, targeting doctoral research in AI, ML, autonomous vehicles, graphics, robotics, healthcare, HPC, and related fields. Awards reach $60,000 per student; since 2002 the program has granted over 220 awards totaling about $8 million.

Applicants must have finished at least the first year of Ph.D. study. An in-person internship at an NVIDIA research office in summer 2027 is mandatory before the fellowship year. Deadline: October 30, 2026.

From the desk

We’re flagging this as pipeline, not product news — and pipelines matter.

Fellowships plus a required internship are how platform companies seed the next decade of CUDA-native research. Useful if it funds genuinely open science; narrowing if every project bends toward NVIDIA’s product map.

I’m watching topic diversity in the eventual cohort. A healthy field needs robotics and healthcare work that isn’t only a GTC demo.

We’ll pass the deadline to students who fit. Industry-funded Ph.D. support is still a net positive when results can be published.
